Mission

Is to offer and provide a conduit for connecting the local community to the four major divisions of horticulture; Floriculture, Landscape, Olericulture (vegetables) and Pomology (fruits).

Vision

Using the Village Green Metropolitan Park District in Kingston as its hub, Greenworks throughout the year will offer and partner with local groups to offer educational classes, hands on workshops, lectures and events to support the rich and diverse horticulture opportunities available in our area.

Village Green Community Garden

Is currently undergoing a 2 year refurbishment plan. Year one, 2024 the old garden was torn out, and regraded. New cedar raised beds were built and installed and the capacity increased to 20 beds. In 2025 the second phase will include updating the irrigation to the garden, and rebuild the fencing and gates. It is located in the sunniest corner of the Village Green campus and is housed within a deer fence. Each year the garden plots are offered to the local community for rent starting in Spring of each year. Cultivation continues through December of each year.
