Community Services
The Village Green Metropolitan Park District partners with local non-profit organizations to offer numerous services to the community.
Showers
Our shower room has a standing shower, with attached seat, toilet, sink, baby changing table, and an adjustable shower chair with arms. The shower is open to anyone during business hours with the last shower beginning no later than 30 minutes before closing.
Showers are $2 per person, but we provide shower vouchers paid by both Redeemer United Methodist Church and ShareNet (just ask the front desk). Please bring a towel.
Severe Weather Shelter
Kingston Cares works with Kitsap County, the Village Green, and local volunteers to staff a Severe Weather Shelter from November through March at the Community Center. Open from 6 pm – 6 am, the volunteer staff supply sleeping cots, warm food and drink, and a safe place to stay out of the elements. Community Meal
On the 2nd Friday of the month, Kingston Cares, in partnership with local groups, sponsors a free meal for anyone in the community, located here at the Village Green Community Center. Meals are available from 5 – 6 pm.
Bloodworks
The community can donate blood at Village Green when Bloodworks Northwest sets up their clinic at the Community Center. Typically, they are here on the 1st or 2nd Monday of the month. Keep an eye on our online calendar or newsletter for the next time they are scheduled to be here.
AARP Tax Aide
AARP partners with the Village Green to offer free tax services to the community beginning early February and running through April 15th. For more information check out their website at https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide.html
